Social media is essential for educators to be familiar with and understand. It's a place for our students to collaborate and for us to find resources and collaborate with other educators. We can use social media as a way to find consistently updated resources for improving our classrooms, and today, I will share with you some of my favorites.
EdTech Teacher is a comprehensive website with lots of resources for learning about how to use technology in the classroom, including courses, certifications, workshops, keynotes, and much more. It is one of the best hubs for finding ways to become a more technologically knowledgeable educator, from Google tools to AI to teacher focused recommendations. They even have information on summer education programs for teachers and conferences, expanding the community to be in person as well.
Rae Rocks Teaching is a great resource about the flipped classroom and lots of information on science teaching as well. She explores lots of great ways to engage students and use technology to introduce realism into science classrooms. She also has her own store and courses as extra resources to go with her blog. Her blog covers not just science education and technology education but also how teachers can use technology to run their own businesses to support themselves.
Miss Tech Queen has a very wide variety of technology educational resources on her site, from STEM and robotics to video editing and student engagement. She has many additional resources outside of her website including an Etsy shop, a YouTube channel, and Amazon store front. Her website has courses, a blog, and a mailing list. While STEM activities are her focus, most of the activities can be applied in a wide variety of subjects and are more focused on the technology integration than the STEM subject itself.
There are lots of resources out there for educators to become better at using technology in the classroom. Share your favorite resources below!
